Choosing a funeral home can be an overwhelming decision, especially at an emotional time. That’s why it is important to know that there really is a difference. Stine & McClure Chapel has been under the management of the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons family since the 1950s. Today, we continue to provide families with quality, compassionate care. The funeral arrangers at Stine & McClure Chapel offer families strength and comfort during a difficult time.
Founded by Edward Stine in 1861, Stine & McClure Chapel is the oldest continuing funeral business in Kansas City. This large Colonial-style funeral home began serving families in 1928, and is the only funeral home in Kansas City that has a pipe organ. It is also the only funeral home in which U.S. Presidents Truman and Eisenhower both attended services. Stine & McClure Chapel can accommodate 240 people on solid walnut pews. In addition to the chapel, there are four viewing rooms and one arrangement room. Parking is ample—there are four parking lots to accommodate family and friends. Stine & McClure is also handicapped-accessible.
Families can be assured that they will receive personalized, individual attention when making arrangements with Stine & McClure Chapel. Our professional and caring staff members understand that the loss of a loved one is a very personal experience, and are here to help. At Stine & McClure, we believe that every life is unique, and every funeral should be too. We celebrate life. And for those who like to plan ahead, we offer The Simplicity Plan® prearrangement program—an easy way to handle an important responsibility.
